On April 22, an exhibition of the international art project 100 × 100Art opened in the new exhibition space of the Roca Group. 100 authors, including famous designers, artists and artists from Russia and Europe, created their own sketches for plates on the theme of the past century

On April 22, in the new exhibition space of the Roca Group in Moscow, a presentation of the international art project 100 × 100Art was held, which is intended to become a kind of chronicle of the XX century, written on … a plate! 100 participants – famous architects, designers, artists – were offered to create an author’s sketch for a plate – a kind of statement on the theme of the bygone XX century. From the Russian side, Andrei Bilzho, Evgeny Ass, Lyudmila Ulitskaya, Sergey Tsigal, Andrey and Natalya Makarevichi, Alexander Rappoport, Lev Rubinstein, Maria Romanova, Marina Popova, Sergey Estrin and other cultural figures took part in the project.

The object for creative reflection on the past century, which has already become history, was the plate of the legendary Imperial Porcelain Factory. All works are made in two colors: red and black. The aim of the exhibition is to express the artist’s attitude to such processes as evolution or revolution, an analysis of history, reflection on the past and ideas that have changed not only the culture of Russia, but also the course of world history as a whole. “Our main task is to push the past and the present,” says the exhibition’s curator, architect Anna Medleva.

The first part of the project, which is currently on display in Moscow, was named HARD XX and was mainly devoted to the 1917 revolution. The exhibition will run until June 1, 2019. The collection will be gradually updated with new works. http://100x100art.ru
