The Visual Care Institute | The project takes part in Best Office Awards 2014
The Vision Care Institute — is a professional education centre for vision care specialists. Johnson & Johnson Vision Care subdivision is world famous for ACUVUE soft contact lenses production.
The office with dramatic views to Krymsky Bridge and Joan The Warier ancient church is located in newly built property, located on Yakimanka. This is already the second project of Sergey Estrin Architectural Studio for the TVCI subdivision and the client very much liked the first design. The acryl glass “eyelashes” created for the first office were an imported element symbolizing company’s business, therefore this idea was used for the second office as well.
The subject and planning core of the office has become the reception block made of corean with “eyelashes” of lit acryl glass. All elements are custom-made. The “lashes” now have «+» and «-» signs in cross section, exactly like contact lens dioptre. Each eyelash has own inclination angle thus creating one smooth line much resembling a real eyelid.
