Penthouse on 76th floor of Moscow tower.
Sergey Estrin Architectural Studio took part in implementation of uncompromising design for property located on the top floor of Moscow tower.
The client is very experienced developer – Edward Berman, co-owner of development company, completed this high-raise building amongst many others. Edward has stayed in many different places and knows for sure the type of design he prefers. The client was very much involved in the project and Sergey Estrin confirms that “This design was mainly created by the client and he is very much satisfied with it.”
The penthouse is truly breathtaking; and not only because it is the only residence 300 meters above the ground within thousands of miles. The Syrian craftsman ornament embellishing walls and ceilings is genuinely infatuating. In these surroundings the bed suspended above the floor turns into flying carpet. During evenings, when the sky is bright and clear a real light drama is performed in the sitting room: the embossed wall finished with copper foil and varnish lights up from the setting sun beams, bursted in through panoramic windows. During misty days perforated light fixtures with many patterned shades undertake the role of celestial body.
Main interior ideas belong to the client. The architect’s mission was to concentrate on the main premises – sitting room. The objective was to overcome the resemblance to public interior and give the gigantic space a lived-in appearance.
The sitting room was divided into several zones. There are sofas, ornamental swimming pool with fountain and sculptures, place for hookah, grand piano shaped bar, fire place. The columns and walls seem to be made of cubes – a hint on shape of the building itself creating a link between skyscraper architecture and the penthouse.
