Moscow Schlumberger office. Against city background | SALON-interior №6 (161) 2011 / interior news

Schlumberger science research centre occupies entire three stories of new office.

“It’s not easy to design a practical research centre, – says Sergey Estrin, the author of the project: “On one hand the job they have is very creative – on the other – requires a lot of concentration. Therefore we have provided for a lot of space for meetings, negotiations and respite.  We set the offices into frame of zigzag glass partitions, thus providing “solitariness” for researchers. Owing to solid glazing of central part of the building, the life on the research centre ground floor runs literally against city background. It was our intention to open this space as much as possible, to preserve sensation of freedom and lightness”.
