Sergey Estrin in jury of the ArchiDigitalArts contest

Sergey Estrin has been invited to the jury of the ArchiDigitalArts contest – the country’s first open competition of digital architectural graphics.

Architects, artists, visualizers, professionals and students of creative studios and universities (over 14 years old) were invited to participate.

Images of architecture of the past, present and future were accepted for the competition: sketches and visualizations for projects (regardless of the implementation status), architectural fantasies, graphic studies. Particularly welcome work in which the authors expresses their creative position, philosophy, attitude to the world around them, presents socially significant ideas. Each participant may submit one work, which may consist of 1-5 interrelated images. The focus of the images should be on architectural themes. The competition accepted work performed in any computer programs and on any electronic media. Images were allowed in a mixed technique – hand + computer processing. Images made entirely by hand were not accepted for this contest.

Architect Sergey Estrin about working in the jury of the competition:

“A lot of interesting works were presented with a good working out and a lot of details. He drew attention to different techniques – collages, multilayered stories, where the atmosphere is well conveyed. There are those where the authors managed to do without visualization of banal cherry blossoms and cyclists in visualizations. Now digital graphics has become an integral part of the architectural project, it is difficult to imagine the final presentation of the project to the customer without digital graphics. The programs with the help of which such projects are being made have existed for many years, therefore the competition in this kind of art is very high.

My main disappointment is related to the fact that so far there are practically no works made by hand on graphic tablets. However, this is not the last such competition. Everything is ahead. “

Winners will be announced on April 3, at 5 pm, at the Architectural Lecture Hall at the Mosbuild Exhibition, Crocus Expo, Pavilion 2, Hall 7.
